Dow Jones Today: Dow Up By Almost 1%, While Netflix Drops By 34%

Since the beginning of the year, the stock market has been on a roller-coaster ride. While the prices of the most significant stocks fluctuate daily, some stocks have consistently shown growth while others have consistently shown a downward trend. Although the stock market is still going through a rough patch, you can use this volatility as a long-term investor.

Despite a 35% drop in Netflix stock price that would represent a shake for Wall Street entirely, the DJI gained 200 points. The profits of Tesla are expected to be released at the close of trading.

On Wednesday morning, Baker Hughes (BKR), Abbott Laboratories(ABT), and Asma were the top earners. Abbott shares fell by about 1%. ASML shares rose more than 5% after the announcement. BKR shares dropped by approximately early morning trade and saw a 4.5 percent gain.

Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU), which announced a five-year strategy for increasing sales by 2026, moved slightly lower. Twitter (NYSE:TWTR), which was down more than 1 percent after Tuesday’s drop of 4.7 percent, fell further. Tesla (the electric-vehicle manufacturer) fell 2% on Wednesday in early trading.

According to Dow’s leaders, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) were up 0.5 percent & 1.2 percent, respectively, in today’s stock exchange. In addition, Dow Jones leaders American Express and Caterpillar are Dow Jones’ top stocks to buy and monitor. So even in the wake of the recent stock market meltdown, some excellent investments are still to be made.

Treasury Yields and Oil Prices

After Wednesday’s opening bell, the DJI rose 0.5 percent. The S&P 500 lost some of its gains early on, while the Nasdaq dropped by 0.8 percent.

Invesco QQQ Trust QQQ (QQQQ) saw its value drop by 0.6 % of the ETFs in this category. Conversely, the SPDR S&P 500 Exchange Traded Fund (SPY) gained 0.2%.

That is its highest level since December 2018. It then fell to 2.89 percent this AM. The price of Texas Intermediate crude oil in the United States increased by more than 1 percent to $104 per barrel.
