Results from Boeing, Qualcomm, Ford, T-Mobile USA, Etsy, and Spotify Technology are due out on Wednesday. On Thursday, Apple, Amazon, Pfizer, Intel, Mastercard, and Honeywell International will release their earnings; on Friday, Exxon Mobil, Procter & Gamble, and Chevron will report.
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the Federal Open Market Committee meets. A target interest rate increase by the central bank is inevitable; the only debate is whether it will be a 75-basis-point or 100-basis-point increase.
The core PCE price index for June, which is the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation metric, will be released on Friday. It anticipates the rise over the previous year will reach 4.8 percent.
