Net income for the quarter was $5.1 billion with diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of $1.84 in adjusted earnings per share vs. diluted earnings per share of $1.84 on a GAAP basis, compared to diluted earnings per share of $1.82 per share during the same period last year. Disney's net income from continuing operations attributable to Disney(DIS) increased 3% to $3.1 billion, compared to $2.9 billion last year. Income from discontinued operations for this period was a loss of $0.2 million versus a gain of $0.4 million in the prior-year quarter due to divestitures made.
