Air Products and Chemicals Inc. Increases Its Dividend From $1.50 To $1.62.

Air Products and Chemicals Inc. increased its dividend by a modest seven cents per share on Wednesday, bringing the quarterly payout to $1.62. The increase brings the yearly payout to $2.53, up from $1.50. 

The company cited “strong demand” in the North American industrial gases market, which should support future growth, as well as an expectation that regulated markets will rebound in the second half of the year. In addition, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (APD) has announced that it is undertaking a general share dividend to create more value for investors. 

The move comes as the maker of process equipment for industrial and energy markets continues to benefit from strong global demand for chemicals and other products. The company is also increasing the quarterly dividend rate for each share of common stock by 2%, which will be paid in cash or reinvested in additional shares of common stock, subject to the discretion of management.
