Eureka in Quebec: Unveiling the Game-Changing Lithium Discovery
According to a recent press release, in Montreal, July 13, 2023 – Brunswick Exploration Inc. (BRW) has made a significant discovery of lithium-rich pegmatite at the Anatacau Main Project in Quebec’s Eeyou Istchee-James Bay region. The discovery consists of a large pegmatite outcrop, approximately 100 meters long and 15 meters wide, within a cluster of pegmatite deposits containing high-grade lithium mineralization.
BRW’s President and CEO, Killian Charles, expressed excitement about the untapped potential of the Anatacau Main Property, which has never been systematically explored for lithium. Both the Anatacau Main and West Projects hold promise for additional pegmatite discoveries. However, forest fire restrictions forced the team to temporarily stop exploring the property, and with the recent finding of a substantial spodumene-bearing boulder field at Mirage, BRW plans to conduct a major drilling campaign in Q3 across multiple assets to fully capitalize on these significant findings.
The newly discovered Anais Spodumene-Bearing Pegmatite Showing lies along the renowned E-W deformation corridor, known for lithium-bearing pegmatite, situated 22 kilometers east of BRW’s Anatacau West and Allkem’s James Bay Project. The showing consists of several parallel pegmatite ditches with visible spodumene mineralization, presenting promising opportunities for lithium extraction. As BRW maintains its focus on grassroots lithium exploration in Canada, the company’s dedication to contributing to global decarbonization and energy transition remains steadfast, holding a substantial lithium property portfolio across various provinces.
The untapped lithium resources in Quebec have positioned the province as a major influencer in the 2023 lithium market, offering prospects for clean energy and sustainable economic growth. Quebec’s commitment to ethical mining practices and responsible sourcing bodes well for both regional prosperity and global efforts towards decarbonization. As Quebec continues to harness its lithium potential, it is poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of clean energy solutions, contributing significantly to a greener and more sustainable world.
